The Role of Child Life Specialists

Although it doesn't do a very good job explaining the psychosocial hurdles children face while hospitalized, here's a pretty good article discussing the Child Life profession and what I do if I were to work outside the home.
But it's a field that is about more than just fun and games. Child life specialists use play and education to reduce the stress of being hospitalized and having medical procedures. They work with patients and families to help them understand and deal with difficult health care experiences.
