Kids Voting USA

Here's something interesting that I hadn't heard about before today. Kids get to vote at official voting polls. They get their own age-appropriate ballot and vote alongside the adults.
The Kids Voting USA program combines innovative classroom activities with an authentic voting experience to help students gain knowledge, skills and confidence to be active citizens. What makes the program truly unique is that students have the opportunity to cast a Kids Voting ballot on election day, voting on the same candidates and issues as the adults.

What an excellent way to get kids interested in the politics and the world we live in. I think this is a valuable teaching tool, but imagine how much longer we would have to wait in line to cast our votes.
